Calendar

This design is also created by Adobe Indesign. It is one part of a three part calendar designed to showcase my use of templates and organizational skills. Happy Halloween!

First, I created a template design for October and used that as my Master Page to design the other two months. I wanted something that looked busy, but had a distinct design to it, which is why I liked my template so much. The repetition of the picture around the coupons looks clean and not as scattered as having a bunch of different pictures all over the calendar. Speaking of pictures, I chose typical pets in my first two months, but I also wanted to incorporate the dolphin to show the variety that the Humane Society brings to the definition of pets.

My visual appeal is very theme based depending on the month of the year. I did this to bring diversity and a unique aspect to each month of the year. My fonts were “cute” and curvy, but not unreadable. I didn’t want to make the fonts too harsh because it would take away from the “happiness” that the Humane Society is trying to convey.

My design appeals to my intended audience because each month represents a cute and kind animal that is easy to fall in love with. The majority of animal lovers will appreciate my animals because they are happy and lovable creatures. I also used the specific animals based on the theme of the month. October is usually associated with cats and kitten, April is associated with bunnies, and July is associated with the U.S.A.
